Update: We've lowered our goal to $2,500 so we can just focus on getting the water damaged room repaired, and wanted to add if you'd like to see the progress in real time, check out the last few live streams on the Rick The Jerk YouTube channel! https://www.youtube.com/@rickthejerk/streams

Some of you will know me from our quickly growing YouTube channel, which focuses on Random Acts Of Kindness (RAK Jobs) in the form of repairing people's homes for free. Normally (for now) this comes in the form of small, one day repairs I try to do every week.

I went to do a small-ish job for a friend the other day. She wishes to remain anonymous, so we'll call her Ms. B. She's a very sweet, very kind older lady that lives alone and babysits from her home for income. She also has a family member that stays with her every other week. I was repairing a couple sections of wall in this family member's bedroom, when we uncovered a much bigger problem- the sheathing and framing (plywood and studs) all around the room are rotten. It's definitely not safe and needs to be addressed before her forever home falls apart around her.

If I'm very careful about how we do things, I think it can be taken care of for no more than $6000. But I don't have that kind of money and she doesn't right now either. I really don't think we're big enough yet to be asking followers to contribute to a fund but I don't know any other way to help her.

All money raised will be used to cover the necessary costs, which could be as much as $5000-6000. If we end up having to replace siding too, that adds another several thousand to the bill, but I don't think that will be necessary. Any funds raised beyond our goal will either go into further repairs at Ms. B's house, or applied toward the next RAK Job.
