Jamás pensé que iba a tener que escribir algo así, pero mi gatito Milton, mi compañero de vida por tantos años, está luchando después de sufrir negligencia grave en una clínica veterinaria en Miami.
Lo llevé porque estaba caminando extraño y tenía dolor.
Las radiografías mostraron artritis y el plan inicial era razonable: empezar un antiinflamatorio (prednisolone) y, si no mejoraba, hacer un MRI. Yo acepté el tratamiento y seguí cada recomendación.
Pero lo que ocurrió después fue devastador.

Lo que la clínica le hizo a mi gato
La clínica “My Pet Hospital” en Bird Road (Miami) me dijo que Milton debía quedarse solo una noche para repetir laboratorios “en la mañana”.
Eso fue mentira.
• La clínica abría a las 4 PM, no en la mañana.
• Nunca me dijeron que quedaría completamente solo toda la noche.
• No firmé ningún consentimiento para dejarlo sin supervisión.
• Me llamaron a las 10 PM diciendo que “todo estaba bien” y que lo dejarían para repetir pruebas.
• Eso tampoco era verdad.
Durante la noche, Milton estuvo completamente solo, sin monitoreo, sin personal, sin atención médica.
Y allí ocurrió lo peor:
La línea del suero se enredó en su patita y le cortó la circulación.
Nadie estaba vigilándolo.
Cuando volví por él, su pata estaba fría, hinchada y lastimada.
Los veterinarios especialistas que lo atendieron después me dijeron que había tenido un 50% de riesgo de amputación, un número altísimo y grave, solo posible cuando un animal no es supervisado por horas.
Además:
• Estuvo más de 48 horas sin comer, poniéndolo en riesgo de fallo hepático.
• Mintieron sobre repetir laboratorios (nunca se hicieron).
• Mintieron sobre su estado para evitar que yo fuera a recogerlo.
• No entregaron ningún récord ni resultados al hospital al que lo trasladé.
• Me ocultaron la situación real de la pata durante todo el día.

Actualmente, Milton está hospitalizado en un centro especializado
Lo tuve que trasladar de emergencia a un hospital de cuidados críticos en West Palm Beach.
Los médicos allí me confirmaron:
• Que la patita muestra mejoría, pero el daño fue serio.
• Que tiene rigidez y dolor en la columna.
• Que necesita un MRI, punción lumbar, análisis avanzados y monitoreo continuo.
• Que necesita un tubo de alimentación para evitar daño hepático.
• Que la clínica anterior le causó un daño serio y completamente prevenible.
Estoy haciendo todo lo posible para salvarlo, pero los costos son altísimos.
Milton es mi familia.
Solo quiero verlo recuperarse y volver a casa conmigo sano y sin dolor.

Help Save Milton: My Cat Suffered Severe Veterinary Negligence and Is Now Fighting to Recover
Hi, my name is Suzette.
I never imagined I would have to write something like this, but my beloved cat Milton is fighting for his health after suffering severe negligence at a veterinary clinic in Miami.
I took him because he was walking strangely and seemed to be in pain.
His X-rays showed arthritis, and the initial plan was completely reasonable: start prednisolone and, if he didn’t improve, schedule an MRI.
I followed every recommendation carefully.
But what happened next was devastating.

What the clinic did to my cat
The clinic, My Pet Hospital on Bird Road (Miami), told me Milton needed to stay overnight so they could “repeat bloodwork in the morning.”
That was a lie.
• The clinic opens at 4 PM, not in the morning.
• They never told me he would be left completely alone.
• I did not sign any consent allowing them to leave him unsupervised.
• They called me at 10 PM saying “everything was fine” and they would repeat tests — also untrue.
During the night, Milton was completely alone, with no monitoring, no staff, and no medical supervision.
And that’s when the worst happened:
His IV line wrapped tightly around his leg and cut off circulation.
He was suffering for hours, and no one was there to help him.
When I returned, his paw was cold, swollen, and severely injured.
The specialist doctors who examined him afterward told me he had a 50% risk of losing the limb, which is extremely serious and only happens when an animal is left unmonitored for long periods.
They also told me:
• He had over 48 hours without food, putting him at risk of liver failure.
• No repeat bloodwork was ever done.
• They lied to delay my return to pick him up.
• They failed to send any medical records or results to the hospital where I transferred him.
• They never informed me what actually happened to his leg.

Milton is now hospitalized at a critical care center
I had to rush him to a specialty hospital in West Palm Beach.
The doctors there confirmed:
• His leg is improving but suffered significant trauma.
• He has spinal pain and stiffness.
• He needs an MRI, spinal tap, full labs, and continuous monitoring.
• He needs feeding tube support to stabilize his liver.
• The previous clinic caused preventable and serious harm.
I’m doing everything I can to save him, but the costs are overwhelming.
Milton is my family.
I just want to see him recover and come home safe and pain-free.
