Mikey found himself at a shelter where he was refusing food & his body began to shut down. Before euthanizing, they gave us the option to try helping him, so we decided to give sweet Mikey a chance ❤️‍

After rescuing him & trying every trick, every medication, force feeding, etc. we decided that Mikey needed immediate intervention to save his life

Today Mikey was seen at the hospital where we ran bloodwork, took X-rays & had a feeding tube surgically placed. Mikey’s bloodwork shows severe anemia & it was recommended he have a blood transfusion but that alone is $2,000 so we declined the transfusion for today.

Because of his anemia, he really wasn’t even a candidate for hospitalization because hooking him up to IV fluids will dilute his blood even more, causing the anemia to worsen so I brought him home instead.

Today we paid $1,500 to have labs done for Mickey and the surgical placement of the feeding tube, which is inserted directly into his esophagus. At least this way I can give him nutrition to help support him while he recovers. I am also making liver shakes which contain high amounts of iron to hopefully help combat his anemia.

Any money raised over our outstanding $1,500 bill will go towards the life-saving blood transfusion Mikey desperately needs
