<div>Today Mikey was seen at the hospital where we ran bloodwork, took X-rays &amp; had a feeding tube surgically placed. Mikey’s bloodwork shows severe anemia &amp; it was recommended he have a blood transfusion but that alone is $2,000 so we declined the transfusion for today.

<div>Because of his anemia, he really wasn’t even a candidate for hospitalization because hooking him up to IV fluids will dilute his blood even more, causing the anemia to worsen  so I brought him home instead.

<div>Today we paid $1,500 to have labs done for Mickey and the surgical placement of the feeding tube, which is inserted directly into his esophagus. At least this way I can give him nutrition to help support him while he recovers. I am also making liver shakes which contain high amounts of iron to hopefully help combat his anemia.
