Manila was a sad story as we tried to rescue a dog, and three months in, they told us our dog was no longer adoptable after we fell in love. To help my daughter with her grief, we looked for another Frenchie with a wrinkled look and we found what we thought was a responsible breeder. He was anything but that and left us with heavy bills from handing her over full of hookworms that almost took her life by making her extremely sick, losing all of her hair, which half had grown back and the other half has not. This makes infections, yeast, and sunburns very easy. When we got her she didn’t even know how to drink water so I had to syringe feed her for weeks until I could teach her. He also bred many dogs not AKC as he stated, so she has nares that are collapsing and pinched and an elongated palate that makes her have trouble eating, playing, drinking, and sleeping. She looses her breathe sleeping.

She isn’t a typical puppy; she doesn’t run around and play. If she tries, she will exert herself for the rest of the day, and she will sleep. She has a few bursts of play which I show on her tik tok to get engagement of the happy times . She struggles to breathe day to day, but sleeping is the hardest because she stops breathing in her sleep and chokes. She is such a loving puppy to all; she loves all people, all ages, races, those with disabilities she’s extra sweet to! She has so much resilience; she wants to live. I remember she could barely lift her head and slept 95% of the day. She was so sick from the hookworms, the bad breeding and the medication was so strong. But she would try to get up to cuddle and love on us.

I hope together as a community we can save Manila and help her with this surgery she so badly needs and deserves. The money will be used for boas surgery .So please help us at least get her past these two surgeries and ongoing care for this skin issue from the hookworm and poor breeding. We havent been able to see a derm yet as we are still paying off vet bills just to keep her going along with specialized food and skin care products and rinses .
