Save Lives of LGBTQ Youth in Mexico

More than 745,000 queer youth in Mexico contemplate suicide each year. This number alone is alarming, but it is even more alarming when one accounts for the fact that this number is most likely much higher since there is a severe lack of data in Mexico that pertains to this group. Although there are indeed some LGBTQ+ support groups in Mexico, the resources are scarce to adequately address suicide prevention for LGBTQ+ adolescents. In an effort to change this, I propose to empower LGBTQ+ adolescents by creating a hotline and virtual meeting space in which young people can either text, call, or virtually chat with a trained volunteer for support and assistance. I need your help to start this organization (Tu Aliado - Your Ally) and help save the lives of LGBTQ+ youth in Mexico.
