Save Liverpool Pride 2025: Keep it Loud, Local and Proud!

This year, Sahir, Liverpool’s longest-standing LGBTQ+ charity, has stepped in to help facilitate and coordinate a community-led Pride in 2025. With just seven weeks to go, we’re supporting local people, volunteers, creatives, grassroots organisers and our fellow LGBTQ+ organisations to come together and deliver a different kind of Pride – one that is community-centred, inclusive, accessible and rooted in local voices.

But we need your help to make it happen.

LCR Pride Foundation recently made the very difficult decision not to deliver Pride in Liverpool this year. We recognise the scale of that decision and deeply respect their courage in taking such a step.

In response, and after listening to our communities, Sahir is working to support and coordinate a city-wide effort to ensure Pride still takes place in Liverpool this summer. We’ve heard loud and clear: Pride still matters, and our city still needs it.

We’re helping to facilitate a boss programme that will hopefully include a rally at St George’s Plateau, a peaceful protest march, youth and family-friendly spaces, a safe community gathering area, and a Pride Quarter street celebration that platforms our brilliant local queer creatives and organisers.

LCR Pride Foundation, Homotopia, and many other local LGBTQ+ organisations, artists, activists, and community groups will be involved in shaping, supporting, and bringing this event to life – making it a true reflection of our diverse and vibrant community.

But here’s the bigger picture. While helping to save Pride, Sahir is also fighting to keep its own essential services running. We are a lifeline for LGBTQ+ people across the Liverpool City Region and a key source of support for all local people living with HIV. Right now, we urgently need to raise £20K every month just to keep delivering the work our communities rely on.

So we are asking for your support.

This fundraiser will:

• Help facilitate and coordinate a meaningful, inclusive and safe Liverpool Pride 2025

• Support Sahir’s vital frontline services during a time of real financial challenge

• Show that Liverpool stands strong for its LGBTQ+ communities
