Save Lake Wenatchee Y Camp: Act Now

I am Bonnie Hilory, Camp Director from 93-98 and reaching out to those whose lives have been touched by Lake Wenatchee Y Camp. In April of 2025 the Wenatchee Valley Y Leadership announced their decision to sell the Lake Wenatchee Y camp (which was made in January of 2025). We are forming a Friends of Lake Wenatchee Y Camp (with the goal of becoming a 501c3 nonprofit. This process takes 6 to 8 months.

We have been told that the property may go up for sale by this fall. By using go fund me this platform allows for our community to donate. These important gifts will not be tax deductible at this time. We are exploring fiscal sponsors, in the meantime we need what I call seed money to get us started. We have one alumni who has stepped. Please join us. Our budget is simple:

For Go-Fund-Me donations typical gifts will be under $1,000. For those wanting to contribute a leadership gift ($1,001 to 6 million to the Save our Camp campaign please write to me. Our strategy right now is to provide you a pledge form for your consideration. Our goal is a BHAG (Big Hairy Audacious Goal) of 6+million. Once pledges are in hand of at least 3 million, we will request a meeting with the Y leadership for a purchase conversation, Otherwise we are exploring other options as well.
