People and Fish and Why Lake Pillsbury Matters

Lake Pillsbury, part of the Potter Valley Project, isn’t just a water reservoir. It’s a regional asset that keeps the water flowing in the Eel and Russian River throughout the year. It’s our fire protection-a lifeline for Lake Pillsbury communities and surrounding area. Its supplies year-round water to families and farms in Lake, Mendocino, Sonoma and North Marin Counties, many of whom depend upon this water for their livelihoods.

Without Lake Pillsbury and the diversion from the Eel River into the Russian, Potter Valley will die off, and 750,000 people stand to lose municipal and agricultural water downstream in Mendocino, Sonoma and North Marin counties.

People have reached out to me wanting to know how they could give to the “Save Lake Pillsbury” cause. After much consideration, I’ve obtained a non-profit EIN# and opened a bank account to start the long road ahead fundraising to support attorney fees, education, and producing and distributing signs throughout 4 counties.
