MALTI (English below)

Kif tafu (u forsi anki kkontribwixxejtu l-appoġġ siewi tagħkom), is-sena l-oħra residenti tal-Kottonera ġġieldu biex jiddefendu l-ispazji miftuħa u l-wirt storiku Malti mill-iżvilupp distruttiv propost mill-‘American University of Malta’ (AUM)     Ġordaniża. B’appoġġ mifrux, xogħol iebes u għaqda rnexxielna nġibu l-applikazzjoni miċħuda mill-Awtorità tal-Ippjanar    (PA).

David rebaħ lil Gulija, u l-applikazzjoni mostruża ġiet rifjutata! .... IMMA Gulija huwa LURA u jippoppa l-muskolu tal-flus tiegħu! ... AUM qed jappellaw ir-rifjut mill-PA.

Din id-darba rieda tajba, xogħol iebes u parteċipazzjoni mhumiex se jkunu biżżejjed. Biex tiġġieled appell hemm bżonboard il-flus. Speċifikament:

Eur3,500 - Ħlasijiet legali u arkitettoniċi
Eur1,000 - Rapporti u riċerka
Eur1,000 - Stampar, disinn u riżorsi
Eur 300 - Spejjeż bankarji

Għandna tim lest li jpoġġi x-xogħol, iżda għandna bżonn il-flus biex inwasslu l-professjonisti u l-għodda. Aħna mhux se      nħallu l-muskoli tal-flus ta’ Gulija jintimidawna. L-iżvilupp propost kien mostruż qabel u għadu mostruż.

Kwalunkwe ammont li tista' tikkontribwixxi - żgħir jew kbir - se jmur direttament biex tiddefendi l-wirt storiku u l-ispazju pubbliku miftuħ ta' Malta.

As you might know (and maybe you even contributed your valuable support), last year Cottonera residents fought to defend open spaces and important Maltese heritage from the destructive development proposed by the Jordanian ‘American University of Malta’ (AUM). With widespread support, hard work and unity, we managed to get the application refused by the Planning Authority (PA).

David beat Goliath, and the monstrous application was refused!....BUT Goliath is BACK and flexing his money muscle!  ... AUM are appealing the refusal of the PA.

This time goodwill, hard work and participation are not going to be enough. To fight an appeal takes money. Specifically:

Eur3,500 - Legal and architectural fees 
Eur1,000 - Reports and research
Eur1,000 - Printing, design and resources
Eur 300 - Transfer Fees

We have a team willing to put in the work and time, but we need the money to get the professionals and the tools. We will not let Goliath’s money muscle intimidate us. The proposed development was monstrous before and is still monstrous.

Let’s prove that the community - when united and ready to fight for what is theirs - are the strongest muscle of all.
Whatever amount you can contribute - small or large - it will go directly to defending Malta’s heritage and public open space.
