Save Ixonia from WE Energies LNG Facility
WE Energies is seeking approval from the Town of Ixonia and the Jefferson County Board to place a Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) storage facility on approximately 135 acres, in Ixonia, Wisconsin, at the intersection of North Road and Triangle Road. HELP US KEEP THE RESIDENTS OF IXONIA, WISCONSIN SAFE. HELP US STOP WE ENERGIES FROM BUILDING THIS DANGEROUS GAS STORAGE FACILITY IN OUR QUIET, RURAL COMMUNITY. LNG is natural gas that is cooled to a liquid state, about -260 degrees F. WE Energies seeks to build this facility to take natural gas from the pipeline that runs through Ixonia, cool it, liquify it and store it in a 150 foot tall tank until it is needed when demands are high in the winter. The gas would then be warmed back to the gaseous state to serve customers from Milwaukee. WE Energies stated this would save Milwaukee customers money for winter heating. If the facility is approved, Ixonia would receive approximately $500,000 per year and Jefferson County would receive 1,000,000 in shared revenue from the state. The proposed location of this DANGEROUS storage facility is located 3/4 miles from Ixonia Elementary School, a 1/2 mile from two group homes for disabled individuals and 1 mile from the center of our town. THESE ARE ALL LOCATED WITHIN THE BLAST ZONE SHOULD A CATASTROPHIC INCIDENT OCCUR. There are countless other issues and concerns the citizens of Ixonia have with this proposed storage facility. Please learn more about the issues: www.saveixonia.com We are requesting donations to help us fight WE Energies in their effort to locate this potentially lethal natural gas storage facility in Ixonia. We need funds to help us with community outreach and to pay for necessary legal fees we will incur in this fight to save our rural community. Please help us SAVE IXONIA.
