Hammond Ground is more than just a field — it’s an historic parkland and a key part of the character and heritage of our community.

Today, that space faces the real prospect of large scale property development. Once lost, it cannot be replaced.

There are strong and legitimate reasons why this land should not be developed - planning has previously been rejected multiple times for very good reason.

Hammond Ground plays an important role in maintaining the rural setting of our village and preventing coalescence with neighbouring areas. It provides valuable green space, supports local wildlife, and contributes to natural drainage — helping to reduce flood risk in surrounding areas.

Increased traffic, pressure on already stretched local infrastructure, and the loss of visual amenity would all fundamentally change the nature of where we live.

Our aim is simple: to ensure that any decisions about Hammond Ground are made with full transparency, proper scrutiny, and a genuine understanding of its value to local residents. That requires expert input, careful research, and a strong, organised community voice.

Your support will help fund the professional advice and resources needed to represent our community effectively. Every contribution, no matter the size, strengthens our ability to engage, challenge where necessary, and protect what matters.

Together, we can make sure Hammond Ground is given the consideration it deserves.
