Save Elmwood Cemetery: Repair Storm Damage

My name is Vonda Sheldon and I am looking for donations to help support Elmwood Cemetery in Preble, NY. This is a private, non-profit cemetery managed by the Elmwood Cemetery Association. The cemetery provides a resting place for many community family members, including my own.

After a severe windstorm on March 16, 2025, the cemetery sustained a significant amount of damage. There are several trees down, including two very large pine trees that have caused a tremendous amount of damage to monuments, gravestones, the front entrance, the flagpole, as well as uprooting the ground.

The insurance will not cover any of the damage, which is heartbreaking. The Elmwood Cemetery Association has been quoted in excess of $17,000 for cleanup and monument repair. Now we ask for your help. We are seeking funds to help with the cleanup and replacement of damaged stones and monuments.
