Save Downtown Huntersville
Please help protect the heart of our town by donating to the Save Downtown Huntersville legal fund.
What’s at stake:
A developer has applied to have the empty lot beside Discovery Place Kids and 8 additional acres of wooded land downtown rezoned for high density housing, a huge parking lot, and limited retail. The plan has almost 200 total housing units and includes an oversized apartment building, 50 town homes, and 7 houses that face the oldest neighborhood in Huntersville.
We are working hard to prevent the rezoning. This prime site should be used for things that will revitalize the area and not overwhelm it with high-density housing and more traffic. We want more retail, more green space preservation, and more desirable things that will make our downtown unique and charming. Huntersville can do better than this!
Why we need your help:
Our town commissioners aren’t listening to our concerns, so we’ve retained a land-use attorney. We need your contribution so we can continue the fight to better downtown Huntersville and protect the surrounding neighborhoods.
No contribution is too small!
Every donation helps! Whether you give $5 or $500, you will help us in our fight to Save Downtown Huntersville.
What is Save Downtown Huntersville?
We’re a group of concerned citizens dedicated to doing what’s best for Huntersville. We work to encourage and influence smart development in our downtown and the surrounding neighborhoods.
We have succeeded in convincing the town to delay the rezoning vote a few weeks to give us more time to make our case.
Time is running out and the legal costs are mounting…
