Save Don Chencho, A Gifted Community Tractor

Magdalena and Lauro are two dedicated elders and community leaders in the south valley. They need our help to raise funds to fix up their community tractor. Don Chencho is the name of their tractor, which was a gift from Magdalena’s father, Ausencio Medina Avila, also known as Don Chencho, a campesino who was an organizer for the United Farm Workers by way of his farm work in the San Joaquin Valley. The gifted 1964 Ford tractor, Don Chencho, is the primary community tractor critical for their Mountain View Community Garden and Sustainability Project in the Mountain View (Albuquerque, NM) neighborhood which has been used there for over 10 years.

They need help meeting the parts and labor cost for the diesel engine tractor by April 4, 2025. Anything helps! Help spread the word!
