Save Cudell Park

This GoFundMe account was created when about a dozen members of the Friends of Cudell Commons Park community group became Plaintiffs and were granted a Temporary Restraining Order (TRO) against the Cleveland Metropolitan School District (CMSD) and the City of Cleveland in an effort to conduct more meaningful conversation and action regarding the construction of a new Marion C. Seltzer School in a way that respects and protects the Cudell Commons Park such that it honors the deeds and will of the late Frank & Emma Cudell and maintains the vital greenspace for generations to come. In order for the initial TRO to be granted, the Plaintiffs had to post an initial $25,000 bond insurance within 24 hours. Fortunately, we were able to secure that steep cost through the generosity of Dennis & Elizabeth Kucinich. However, steep legal fees continue through the ensuing litigation process, and we need the help of the community to invest in the protection of this park. EVERY LITTLE BIT HELPS!

**ACTION ALERT**

We need to raise $25,000 by tomorrow (9/21/23) at 4pm to help ensure Cudell Park remains protected.

The Friends of Cudell Commons Park have been granted a temporary restraining order to prevent CMSD from taking any action while we force them back to the negotiating table to account for their change of plans which will destroy 44% of Cudell Commons Park.

Unfortunately, the judge has required our citizen-led action group to post a $25,000 bond within the next 24 hours to cover any ‘damages’ CMSD may incur from our action.

We need to raise this money by 4pm tomorrow 9/21/2023.

We believe in the merits or our case and are confident we will prevail in getting CMSD to redesign the school and save our park.
