We are dedicated to stopping a cell tower from being built in the woods next to historic Cold Spring Cemetery. We have filed a federal lawsuit to invalidate the court settlement between the telecoms and Nelsonville Village and the building permit. We are standing up for our community's right to conduct public hearings and mandatory environmental review process. In other words, we are suing so that our Village can follow the law.
Over 80 trees will be chopped down to build the cell tower and access road in this NY State designated Scenic Area of Statewide Significance.
The proposed site is a federally protected habitat of an endangered bat that is quickly becoming extinct.
The planned access road in the woods violates the NY State Fire Core endangering the lives of firefighters and neighbors
For almost 200 years, our community has defended Cold Spring Cemetery. Will we be the first generation to allow the destruction of its solemn beauty?
