Save Casa Zimbabwe Students from Eviction

Donation protected
Low income students at the Casa Zimbabwe co-op need your help to not get evicted!

The Berkeley Student Co-ops (BSC) will start evicting students with debt over $4000 by May 24th. This only gives students FIVE days notice to pay off their back rent. Casa Zimbabwe students were only informed of the BSC’s sudden policy change in the last few days, leaving us scrambling to find thousands of dollars — the difference between homelessness and staying in the co-op which we call home. HOWEVER, if we raise enough money to reduce students' debt to under $4,000, the BSC will grant them a housing contract.

Please help our fellow czars who are facing homelessness!

Casa Zimbabwe is a low income co-op that has been around since the 60s, with a long history of activism, art, and music. Casa Zimbabwe is democratically self-governed by the students who live here — We are a tight knit community of low-income, queer, and POC students.

All donations will go directly to the low-income students at Casa Zimbabwe facing eviction by May 24th to pay off their debt to the BSC. Donations will go towards getting students' debt under $4000, and then the remaining balance will be split equally between the students facing eviction.
