Cafe cairo needs your help. Covid did for us but all these years later there is still a chance to reopen. We need help for building work, equipment and legacy utility demands . While we have covered the rent until now January will be hard so there is some urgency. Should all go well we would plan to reopen towards the end of January and welcome back all of you to make this lovely space hum again. Its still beautiful inside and I'm finding it very difficult to close for good to remove all the beauty and decamp. It would be a horrible and destructive job. Nevertheless we would have to start going backwards in this way before Christmas!

I am really not comfortable asking for help as it is something of a failure not to manage alone. Ultimately so many far more worthy situations need funds. Nevertheless tens of thousands of folk came and loved this place. We started in 1997 which makes cafe cairo the oldest independent bar in the brixton area. Can it survive? It's all up to you.

One way or another this is an opportunity to thank everyone who came and made cafe cairo so lively and fun through the years. Without you and everyone who worked with us it would otherwise have been a soulless space. X
