The 13th Battalion Auchmar Heritage Trust
will honour, preserve and share the history of Auchmar House and Clairmont Park. We will celebrate the life and many contributions of distinguished Hamiltonian, Lieutenant Colonel The Honourable Isaac Buchanan and his family as well as the renowned history of the regiment he formed, our city’s senior home town infantry unit The 13th Battalion.

The 13th Battalion Auchmar Heritage Trust, is committed to preserving and repurposing the entire Buchanan Estate for public use.
This includes the historic buildings, and its historically significant landscape features.

Together, with the support of business and community partners and committed heritage supporters like you, we are launching our initial fundraising event to help make the first phase of our master plan a reality.
☆ Clairmont Community Park: dedicate to citizens of Hamilton.
☆ Buchanan's Coachouse & The Routh Centre: The estate’s Coach House will be repurposed into a neighbourhood restaurant where the public can enjoy a casual dining experience from a heritage menu or rent the second floor for small-sized functions. We will also have an information area to keep the public updated on the various phases of the project as we progress.
Within these plans we also intend to offer or be available for:
- Museum & Estate Tours
- Educational Programming for all ages
-Weddings and Special Events
- Movie Shoots
- Ghost Walks/Tours
- Regimental Band and Public Concerts
