Our objectives are to persuade the Government to work with the City of Stonnington on the City’s housing strategy rather than pursue its own program and, failing that, to excise heritage overlay areas in Armadale from its activity centres.

We need your support to build and launch our new website, print corflutes and flyers, prepare signs, and obtain professional advice to ensure the effectiveness of our planned media campaign and our representations to Government.

The Government’s plan will allow developers to build four to six storey apartment blocks in most of the residential areas of Armadale. The City of Stonnington’s plan, carefully developed over five years, delivers the extra housing the Government’s plan does, without wrecking our suburb.

We are currently informally organised and we are an unincorporated association.

We ran a grass roots campaign in March which successfully encouraged local residents to complete a government survey on the Toorak and Armadale station activity centres and to write letters to the planning minister, the premier and other politicians.

The consultation period is over but we need to keep pressure on the Government through the media and we also want to seek a meeting with Government to press our views.
