UPDATE 1-20-23
Yes, we are finally negotiating a new space that will combine both dance and tumbling!!! Kauai Gymnastics Academy and Aloha Dance Studio can finally be under one roof. This is a huge opportunity for our community!! We will be able to provide so much more to our gymnastics kids, cheerleaders, the dance community and more. Our Keiki truly needs these types of outlets not just for their physical health, but also for their mental health. Our hearts are to help create well-rounded humans that build self-confidence, and strong work ethics through the art of dance, theater, gymnastics and more.
Our new facility will need a little remodeling to open up the space for a tumbling room, dance space and lobby. We truly need your help to make this possible. We will be seeking volunteers in our community to help make this a possibility, but we are also asking for monetary donations on top of the loans we will have to aquire. It truly takes a village to make this possible. Our community is lacking in space for our Keiki and we truly want to do more on this island. This is just the stepping stone for more to come here on Kauai. We can't wait to continue to serve you and your families.
Thank you kindly for your donations, and feel free to reach out if you are in a trade that would like to donate your time and skills to help our community. [email redacted]

Aloha,
My husband and I took over Kauai Gymnastics Academy in Lihue in June 2020 during the height of Covid. We could not picture our community losing a valuable business to over 300 families coming to the facility weekly. The owners were retiring and moving back to the mainland. They had the business for sale for over a year and had no interest from anyone. We were approached to purchase the business beginning of March, and then Covid hit mid-March. We prayed on taking it over during covid, and they would have closed their doors if we didn't take over.
We have had every real estate agent looking for possibilities in Lihue with no luck. Moving forward, in spring 2022, a new owner for the building took over and mentioned they had no use of our side of the building, or we would have begun our search for a new home. Our lease was up at the end of August, and 30 days before it ended, they told us they would not be renewing our lease as they wanted to expand their business catering to the tourism industry. They agreed to let us stay through our last session ending October 1st, which we would need to vacate.
There is currently nothing available to move to with the dimensions needed for a gymnastics school and equipment. The loss of this business would devastate our children here in Kauai. We already lack activities on our island, and we can’t let any child center activities shut down.
Because my husband and I took over during covid, we could not utilize any of the government help for small businesses. We used personal funds to help keep the gym going through covid.
We are now in need of the community’s help. We need funding to help store equipment while we work on a new lease and tenant improvements to open up the space to accommodate the gym and move into our new location. With one possibility, the 20ft high steel walls to remove alone will cost a minimum of $10,000 - $15,000 each ( 2 walls in this possible commercial space, renting a facility to store equipment will cost between $1500 - $2000 per month depending on space we can find. Plus, deposit for new location $10,000 - $12,000.
We love our Kauai community, and thank you for your kind donations and help to ensure vital programs remain available for our Keiki.
God bless
