We’ve reached our £75,000 goal — thank you ❤️
We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who has donated, shared the campaign, encouraged others to get involved and helped us reach this milestone.
Together, we’ve now raised more than £78,000 to help protect and reopen the Maa Maat Centre and safeguard its collection of more than one million Black books.
Reaching the £75,000 goal means we can move forward with the three phases of the campaign:
- Securing the building against further break-ins
- Making the centre safe and accessible so the doors can reopen
- Beginning the work of cataloguing and improving storage so this important collection can become more accessible to the community
This collection represents more than 50 years of work preserving and making Black literature available. We’re so grateful that so many people have come together to help protect it.
