Savanna Sholly's Fight Against HLH

Donation protected
From the moment she arrived on September21st, Savanna Sholly, has proven to her parents, family, friends, and doctors what a strong and resilient fighter she is.  Shortly after she was born, Savanna had surgery on her stomach and she spent 40 days in the NICU.  On December 7th, she was back in the hospital for open heart surgery.  She spent another 25 days in the hospital but amazed everyone with how strong she was during her recovery.  She spent Christmas at home but had to return again in January for her third surgery.  This time it was for G-Tube surgery to help her with feeding issues and she came home after a 5 day stay.

In the month following, she seemed to be thriving at home until Cassie noticed a rash on her hands, arms, and legs.  She started getting high fevers that would not come down.  At that point, they were admitted back into Children's where she underwent countless blood draws, a bone marrow biopsy, and spinal tap to determine what was going on.  A lab test confirmed she has systemic juvenile rheumatoid arthritis and a rare and life threatening illness called hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis, or HLH.  There is a possibility that the two are connected, so she underwent genetic testing to determine the exact cause of HLH.  There is still so much unknown as they haven't yet received the results of the genetic testing.  But, what is certain is Savanna has a long road ahead.  It's truly heartbreaking what Savanna has gone through in her six months of life but throughout it all, she maintains the sweetest little smile.  She is a true fighter and she is a rock star!

This has been quite a financial burden on Cassie and Greg.  Greg stays in the hospital and commutes to and from work.  Many days, Cassie has been forced to close her storefront, Elite Uniforms.  There is a possibility they will have to be transferred to Children's Hospital of Cincinnati as it is the leading hospital for treating HLH.  If this is the case, Cassie may have to permanently close her store.  Friends and family have expressed interest in donating to help Savanna and her family throughout this difficult journey.  If this is how you choose to help them, thank you! Savanna's family greatly appreciates all the love and support they have received.
