SAUSHA KAY CALFA MEMORIAL GIVING FUND

Here we are at year 6 of the fundraiser. Leading up to this event stirs up a lot of emotions and the reality of long days ahead, but the end result has always been rewarding and fulfilling.

The responses we received from the people helped last year have been both emotional and inspiring. The tears, the hope and the smiles is what this is truly for.

Those that have helped with their time, finances, prayers, and in any other part, cannot be thanked enough, are the who that make this happen.

The paragraphs that follow is the why.

If any of you were fortunate enough to know Sausha you knew how much of a giving and compassionate heart she had. Sausha had a passion for serving others through her love for Christ. She spent countless hours volunteering through and with her Church, at homeless shelters, and helping others in her community.

The void without Sausha here can never be replaced, however we can work on filling it. We have set up a Memorial fund in her honor to be able to give back to the community. Our hope is to feed and supply gifts for families this Christmas and many years to come. We would like to carry on Saushas legacy of giving and bringing a smile to those around.

We are asking for your help in fulfilling this and continuing this throughout the years ahead. We will be collecting for this Christmas until Midnight on December 14th. The amount of our goal might be an odd number, but if you know, you know. Any funds donated after that will be used for Christmas the following year.

Last year, with help from many, we were able to raise almost $7000.00. With this we were able to provide meals , presents, gift cards, and more to 10 families in the community, over 150 gifts to miscellaneous local charities , over 80 gifts to Hope Haven Shelter in DeKalb, over 1500 sets of hats, gloves, and jackets to Hope Haven, and 600 diapers and 50 outfits, boxes of miscellaneous essentials to infants and toddlers in need.

We are hoping we will be able to reach as many as possible within our community. However, the more we raise, the more significant the impact we will be able to create. There are far too many still struggling, and unsure of how they will be able to provide a Christmas for their family.

We are hoping to once again be able to fill the needs of those in our community as we remember Sausha's love for giving.
