Hi my name is Sash, I'm fundraising for Hip reconstruction, My story is after having a hip replacement in December 2022 the consultant who did the operation broke my pelvis.

He had said that my bones were to strong but he failed to tell the nurses it was broken, so when they stood me upright it obviously broke again with more damage. Fast forward to September 2023 after the damage should have healed, I was still suffering a lot of pain and my hip was dislocating. My original consultant assured me he could correct his mistakes and persuaded me to have further surgery pleading with me if I went with a different consultant it would ruin his reputation. I had to go back into hospital for the second surgery with the same consultant to fix the hip replacement, which after another year still hasn't healed.

In March 2024 I sought the opinion of a different consultant due to the amount of pain I was in. After a lot of scans I was told he had never seen such a mess from a hip operation.

You can see from the picture where the red line is there should be a bone there, Somehow its missing!! The new consultant attempted to locate the previous two operation notes but they were missing. So now to get it fixed I need to pay 30k as the insurance have said that they will cover the cost of the hip replacement but will not pay for the pelvis reconstruction.

I have to find the money myself or suffer the pain which is excruciating. For the past 3 years I have lived on strong painkillers which takes the edge off the pain for a short time, but isn't a solution. You might be thinking why don't I sue the consultant but in Spain if it happened over a year ago you can't. So I've turned to go fund me every little helps as its a huge bill to pay.
