UPDATE: The title of this campaign was changed to reflect our goal of constructing the new waiting area at Ngora Health Centre IV in order to solve the clinic's overcrowding problem.

Hello All, Thanks for visiting this page. My name is Sarah, and I've been a Registered Nurse for 4 years - a time I have spent in diverse clinical areas. I am passionate about global health determinants, poverty reduction, and agricultural sustenance.
Families in rural Uganda struggle to make ends meet, and most of their limited resources are used to meet basic needs of food, water, and shelter. They do not have extra funds for maintaining/improving their health status. The health care system in the country is ill-equipped to cater to the population, and also suffer from shortage of qualified health professionals.
I travelled to Uganda in August for two weeks to assist my medical colleagues in providing primary health care. My focus was on HIV/AIDS prevention/treatment, prenatal/postnatal care, and infectious diseases. 35 generous donors gave $1500 towards a worthwhile project for the clinic. The fund was used to start the construction of the new waiting area that we now need to complete.
Thanks once again for being here; and if you wish to check out my experiences at Ngora, Uganda, please go to http://slori001.tumblr.com.
Believe me, you will enjoy checking it. :)
