Sarah's campaign for Rachel's Gift, Inc.

Tax deductible
This past spring my nephew Simon was stillborn on April 8th - his due date and birthday - with a knot in his umbilical cord.  Instead of celebrating a new life, my brother and sister in law were left with empty arms and broken hearts.  During their time in the hospital, Rachel's Gift, Inc provided grief assistance and support as well as a keepsake box to store lifetime reminders of Simon.  For parents who had only moments with their angel infant these keepsakes have immeasurable value and meaning.

One of my goals for 2020 was to run my sixth marathon and I've decided to run in honor of Simon and his family by raising money for Rachel's Gift.  I will be matching all donations up to $2000. Our dollars will help honor our angel Simon and provide loving support to other families during an incredibly difficult time.

More information about Rachel's Gift, Inc.: At Rachel’s Gift Inc. we partner with hospitals to assist parents through the initial phase of infant loss through a base of caring and knowledgeable volunteers. We provide grief assistance for the families as well as a training program for nursing professionals and care-givers on companioning patients through infant loss. Our ultimate goal is to provide a healthy environment to begin the grieving process to minimize long-term psychological damage to individuals and their families experiencing infant loss while at the same time providing lifetime keepsakes of their child. These keepsakes will be a lifetime reminder and a physical connection to the child that was only in their arms a matter of minutes or hours.
