Sarah's campaign for Mitzvah Circle Foundation

Donation protected
I am a sophomore student attending Temple University studying psychology. I began my time as a social work intern at Mitzvah Circle Foundation at the end of August. Originally, I applied to Mitzvah Circle to gain some good internship experience and help those in need. I never would have guessed that three months later I would be completely in love with working as an intern assisting those who truly need our assistance.

Mitzvah Circle Foundation is a nonprofit organization that seeks to help those who are struggling and in need of basic necessities that we use everyday of our lives.  Mitzvah Circle sends out personalized packages full of free clothing, coats, shoes, toiletries, and other requested items for families in Pennsylvania who are struggling to make ends meet. Our warehouse is full of donated clothing and shoes from other families which have been gently used. These donated items are what we pack and send to the families we are helping who are in need of them. However, much of the items that we carry, and most often run low on, are items bought with money collected through donations. Many of the items that we buy brand new due to sanitary and reliability reasons are underwear, bras, socks, car seats for infants, pack and plays, strollers, feminine hygiene products, shampoo, and diapers.

Thus far in just 2019 alone, Mitzvah Circle has donated over 1 million diapers and over 200,000 feminine hygiene supplies to families in need. However, getting these items are extremely difficult without the proper funding for them.

To emphasize the impact of your donations to Mitzvah Circle, 50 dollars can give the gift of helping one family with essential items.

100 dollars can provide shampoo for ten families a year.

250 dollars can ensure 17 babies will have clean diapers for a month.

Up to 500 dollars can create 10 personalized care packages filled with clothes, toiletries, books, toys, and shoes for entire families.

1,000 dollars prevents 25 girls and women from missing school or work this year because they could not afford pads or tampons.

Starting as a social work intern at Mitzvah Circle, I always thought that the focus of the foundation was solely on helping our clients. However, coming to the end of the semester and my time as a social work intern with has made me realize that the staff at Mitzvah Circle has cared for me just as they do with their families. My beautiful supervisor and the director of Mitzvah Circle Foundation, Fran Held, always made me feel as if I was loved and cared for everyday I was on site. I could not be more grateful for the lessons and knowledge she has taught me over the course of the semester. For this, and for helping our lovely families in need, please help me raise money for Fran Held’s nonprofit organization, Mitzvah Circle Foundation, as a Christmas present to her and her wonderful organization. The reason for collecting donations via gofundme is to surprise my supervisor at Christmas time with all donations given through this site. Otherwise, donations would be sent separately to Mitzvah Circle's website instead of as one collective amount which is what will be achieved through gofundme.

All money donated will be collected and put into a check for Mitzvah Circle to be given to Fran at Christmas time as a donation present to her foundation. I appreciate your help and consideration so much.

Help us help others today. Thank you so much.
