Sarah's Adoption: It Takes a Village!

"It takes a village."
That phrase has been on repeat in my mind since I started this adoption process. To be completely transparent, asking for financial support is the one step I've been dreading the most. I've been avoiding it for months now, yet I've reached a point in the journey where there is nothing else I can do without making the first of several large payments. The truth of the matter is, adoptions are expensive. From what I've read, financial concerns are the primary reason why people do not adopt. I put off pursuing adoption for years for that very reason. But I am choosing obedience to my calling and faith in God's ability to provide for my needs over my insecurities. I am choosing to set aside my pride and ask for support when it is needed; which is perhaps my first lesson in becoming a mother.
The amount listed is the estimated cost for the entire process. Believe it or not, this is considered a lower cost adoption as I will be "self-networking" and adopting domestically. This amount should cover the home study fee, networking fees, potential hospital fees, post-adoption counseling for the birth mother, attorney/court fees, and travel fees.
