My name is Melanie. This fundraiser is for my dear friends: Michael Alexander & Sara Parks.

Sara is a violin player in the Hunstville music community. Playing the violin is her main source of income while she also is a caregiver full time for her parents. Why am I telling you this? Because on November 13th she was in a HORRIFIC car accident. She was T-Boned by someone who ran a red light and had to be cut out of her car, rushed to the hospital & have her clothes cut off…she’s ok for now EXCEPT; she can’t use her entire LEFT side and now she needs to buy another car. All of these factors have made it impossible to work (meaning she has ZERO INCOME) and even harder for her to be there for her parents. 

To add salt to an already opened wound, her fiancé Michael went into the hospital on Thanksgiving Eve & he’s still there, when they found out that he has CANCER. Thankfully this will be treatable but he will not be able to work as well through his treatment as it will be in a different state than where they live.  As a couple who were waiting just a little longer to be able to get medical insurance you can imagine the insurmountable number of bills (both medical & household) they have piling up as they are working together to have the strength and will to make sure he comes through this with a clean bill of health. They have been told this will be treatable and they will be doing whatever it takes to make sure it is.

So please, if you feel charitable donate. Neither can work and we don’t know when they’ll be able to work again. All of their bills still have to be paid. Life for Sara still has to go on despite spending every waking moment she can at Huntsville Hospital with Michael.
