Sara and Anderson need help!

This pandemic is hard. This is a scary time for all of us. We all have things that we are grieving and trying to cope with in the midst of this difficult reality.
It is particularly hard for pregnant women who are due this Spring, like our sister Sara who is due June 10th.
The reality facing Sara and her husband Anderson here in Greece is especially difficult. Despite having Greek (public) insurance, they have been unable to use it because of a technical problem and the pandemic has made it very hard to get anything done to fix this problem in lockdown. Unfortunately, Greek public hospitals are not allowing the mothers to have their husbands with them in the delivery room or the recovery room overnight. In addition, public hospitals do not offer a nursery option. There will be little to no help from anyone. Though these measures are meant to keep mamas and their babies safe, it instead reduces the birthing and hospital experience to a calculated and ‘bare bones’ mentality.
This is really difficult since Sara is going to require a c-section and will have to care for herself and the baby almost by herself.
Our hope is that in raising funds, it will provide Sara and Anderson with a private Greek hospital experience which they cannot afford on their own. This will allow them to continue using their private doctor who knows them well and can advocate for them. At the private hospital, Anderson can attend to Sara day and night, along with a caring staff and the help of so many more services that a private hospital provides, like a nursery!
