Hello, my name is Fauziya, and I’m raising funds for Sara a young woman who is bravely battling sickle cell anaemia.

As a child, her symptoms were mild, but in the last 2–3 years her health has worsened significantly. She now needs monthly blood transfusions and has been in hospital repeatedly - just this month alone she was admitted twice. I support her with £100–£200 each month, but the costs of treatment, hospital stays, and medical debt are overwhelming.

Her most urgent need right now is a home ventilator. During crises, her oxygen levels drop dangerously low, and doctors have recommended she keep a ventilator at home to help her breathe. In Nigeria, ventilators cost £2,000–£4,000, but here in the UK a reliable one can be purchased for around £1,000.

Our Fundraising Goal: £1,400

• £1,000 – purchase of a home ventilator in the UK to ship to her in Nigeria.

• £400 – contribution towards her hospital bills, blood transfusions, and existing medical debt.

To mark Sickle Cell Awareness Month, my sister and I are walking 5 miles on Saturday 4th October 2025 to raise awareness and funds for her care. Each step is a symbol of her resilience and a reminder that no one should face this struggle alone.

This ventilator is more than equipment - it is hope, relief, and life for her.
