All funds donated to us will be given directly to MELLON TOWNSHIP LITERACY PROGRAMME.

We, Saoirse & Olivia are travelling to Capetown as part of our Transition Year to volunteer for the Mellon Educate Literacy Programme which helps some of the poorest children in South Africa, get an education.

During our time there we will actively work on a one to one with the children within the literacy hub of the township. Additionally we will work within the schools feeding programme and help to feed children who so desperately need it.

Literacy is essential in equipping children to succeed in education, in work and in life – and it is possibly the single most important factor in overcoming poverty, unemployment and inequality.”

We will endeavour during our time in the township to help in every way we can to change the lives of the children we meet.

We believe this experience will stay with us forever and to also influence the path we take going forward.
