Santiago's Heart Surgery Recovery Fund
Donation protected
Hi, everyone! Santiago was born August 9th, 2021. 12 weeks into the pregnancy, we found out something that we THOUGHT would be life changing in a bad way but what we didn't know is that it would be something that would change our lives in the most extraordinary way ever! An amniocentesis was done and the results came back that our little angel would have Trisomy 21 aka Down syndrome. Before now, that term was such a derogatory thing. I knew a little about it but not much. At first, we went through so many emotions. Depression, sadness, worry, fear, and everything else that was negative. At my 16 week ultrasound, the baby was more developed and I was able to see him form into a human being with the strongest beating heart. All of those negative emotions instantly went
away. Was it easy in the beginning, absolutely not. But with God on our side and our family, there was no way we were turning back. Santi is going to (and already is) a light in our lives and many others. He has already shown us so much that I can't wait for his future because he will have one, a bright one! Some children with Trisomy 21 also have additional health complications, this is true is Santiago's life. He has a small whole in his heart that effects his breathing and quality of life. We are moving forward with the only option which is open heart surgery for our little Santi in February. To our friends and family that are willing to contribute to Santiago's fund we are extremely grateful for your generosity. The funds will go towards a portion of hospital bills that our insurance will not cover, care for Santiago after he comes home from the hospital, supplies to make his recovery easier, and continued funds towards his overall recovery. Our family and Santi are grateful to everyone who contributes, lends a hand, or sends prayers to our family. We love you!
