Help Sandy & Steven Recover After House Fire
In the early morning hours of September 14th at 4:30 AM, tragedy struck when my sister Sandy Holloway’s home was completely destroyed by fire. Sandy was not home at the time, but her husband, Steven, had been asleep on the couch when the fire broke out. Firefighters were able to rescue him just in time, and he is now in the ICU Truma Burn Center at Parkland Hospital in critical condition.
Unfortunately, Sandy and Steven did not have insurance on their home. Because their house was very old, they were told the electrical system would need a full update before they could qualify for coverage—a repair that would have cost more than $10,000, an amount far beyond what they could manage on their fixed income. Now, after losing everything in the fire, they have nothing to fall back on.
If you know Sandy, you know she has the biggest heart. She is the kind of person who would open her door to a stranger, offer a meal, and give them a place to stay—no questions asked. She’s the one you could call in the middle of the night, and she would come running. Sandy has always been there for her friends and family, and now she needs us to be there for her.
Any donation, no matter the size, will help Sandy and Steven with immediate needs like clothing, food, and temporary housing, as well as with the long road of rebuilding their lives. Your love, prayers, and support mean more than words can express.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
