Supporting SANDS and SANDs United Solent

I am putting on a charity football match/ family day to support and raise awareness of a wonderful charity SANDs and charity football team called Sands United FC Solent.

My best friends sadly lost their beautiful little boy Solomon at 24 weeks. Throughout this incredibly difficult time, they found SANDs and from that a SAND’s United football team.

Sands United are a unique football team supporting dads and other bereaved family members who have suffered the loss of a baby through either miscarriage, stillbirth or neonatal death. They aim to bring bereaved dads together in a safe environment to play football, socialise and most importantly, support each other.

Through football, they want to raise awareness around the subject of baby loss. This, for too long, has been a very taboo subject in society and for dads and family members, a subject that they have often found too hard to discuss with peers. In many cases, this leads to mental health issues, relationship breakdowns and forms of social anxieties.

The event will take place on Sunday 11th May at Baffins Football Club, Portsmouth.
