Hello! My name is Paul Towne, and I am one of the leaders of a homeless ministries outreach that a few friends and I started here in San Diego.
We are a faith based street outreach that seeks to serve and support our unhoused neighbors by providing food, water, clothing, and other basic supplies. We interact directly with our unhoused friends, meeting them face to face on the streets of downtown San Diego.
We started this ministry in September 2025 and have averaged about two outings per month. For each outing, two leaders, accompanied by four or more volunteers, carpool together to East Village in Downtown San Diego and serve around 30 people.
The goal of this ministry is two-fold. First, we are here to serve our unhoused friends by providing resources to help them and by coming alongside them in some of the most difficult moments of their lives. And in doing so, we hope that we can model for them the love that Christ has for them. Second, by inviting volunteers to every outing, we want to spread awareness of the difficulties the unhoused population faces. Our goal is that this ministry will stir in others a desire to serve the unhoused and bring God's love to every person they see.
We are currently self-funded and each outing costs approximately $150. With our current budget, we are able to sustainably bring the following items on our outings:
Snack Bags that contain a PB&J and a few snacks
Waters
Hot Chocolate
Coffee
Blankets
Cup of Noodles, Oatmeal, and tea
Hygiene kits
All donations would be used to bring out additional supplies such as the following items:
Bibles
Medical Supplies (bandages, gauze, wipes)
Clothes (gloves, socks, underwear, shirts, jackets)
Backpacks
Flashlights
Dog food
We are a ministry built on small acts of love, hoping that with each small act, sandwich, and cup of coffee, we can give people back their dignity, and through intentional kindness and support, bring God’s love to some of the most vulnerable in our society.
Thank you for your support, and we are excited to see how God continues to move.
