Skye, Amy, and Nula's Ghana Fundraiser 2022

Hi everyone, Amy, Nula and Skye here!

 

We are fundraising to raise money for our trip to Ghana this coming September.

Our trip entails volunteering in a school where we will be providing care and support to early years children, assisting with homework, playing games, helping with food preparation and meal distribution.

 

Why is this important to us?

 

We can make a difference! More than half of all children and teens do not meet minimum proficiency standards in reading and mathematics. Quality education provides an opportunity to learn and grow in a safe environment and is key to preventing poverty, securing long-term employment and improving quality of life. Through working with local teachers, we hope to be able to impact the children's lives positively.

 

How will the funds be used?

Whilst this is a volunteering trip, the company who are going with, IVHQ, require a fee that goes directly to hosting us in Ghana that provides accommodation and meals for volunteers, and support for the local community. As well as this, there are additional fees, including Visas, flights, travel insurance, vaccinations and background checks.

As well as this we want to use the donations  to provide books, stationery, instruments, first aid supplies and any educational tools that we can take with us that would benefit the children.
