*Updates*
It’s official! The flights are booked! ✈️
I can’t thank you enough for my donations so far! I have been blown away by your kindness and generosity. It’s helping so much towards the program.
I’m working through my online training and preparation, focusing on travel in CR, turtle species ID, monitoring techniques, and survival skills! My DBS check has all gone through so I am cleared to undertake community work whilst out there. I’ve also been talking to people who are currently out there; it sounds like the maintenance work is really physical!
Next to organise: vaccinations and lodgings
My story:
Anyone who knows me knows that nature and conservation has been a lifelong passion, and I spend a great deal of my free time working as part of surveying and conservation efforts.
I have been lucky enough to travel to South Africa twice and since college, I have dreamed of going to Costa Rica. Now that dream has come true with being accepted onto the Turtle Conservation volunteer project in 2026!

Costa Rica is home to many species of turtle including the critically endangered Hawksbill turtle.
Whilst there I will be undertaking beach patrols, building hatcheries to protect eggs from predators, monitoring nesting females and collecting eggs for protection. I will even take part in beach clean ups and turtle counts and tagging. We all know that we need to do more to help the planet and the wildlife within it.
I would be beyond grateful and so thankful for any help towards funding my place on the programme. Any contribution will help towards my accommodation costs.
