Shelter for Marco, a refugee in Samos

During the last weeks heavy rains have been falling on the Refugee camp of Samos, where thousands of Refugees and Asylum seekers live in precarious and often humiliating conditions, awaiting on average 1 or 2 years before having a response from their legal procedures.
While working as a volunteer doctor for the refugees in Samos during the last months, I had the opportunity to meet Marco.
Marco escaped from Kumba, English Camerun, almost 3 years ago, and has been living in the Refugee camp of Samos for the last 15 months.
While distressfully awaiting for his legal procedure, he is living in a makeshift shelter and is struggling, like all the other refugees in Samos, with the conditions of the camp (just try typing "samos refugee camp" on google and you will have an idea...) and as if it weren't enough , he suffers from a condition that is progressively causing him to loose his vision.
Since I came back to Italy I have kept in touch with Marco, and this morning I woke up to the horrible news that his already precarious shelter in the camp has been destroyed and flooded by the heavy rains, damaging the few things that he possessed.
Not having the economic possibility of financing the needs of Marco alone, I though of creating this crowdfunding to gather some money in order for him to buy the materials to build a new shelter in the camp, in a more safe position and with more resistant materials. I hope that who has the possibility can give a contribute.

Nelle ultime settimane sono cadute forti piogge nel campo profughi di Samos, dove migliaia di rifugiati e richiedenti asilo vivono in condizioni precarie e spesso umilianti, aspettando in media 1 o 2 anni prima di avere una risposta dalle loro procedure legali.
Negli ultimi mesi, mentre lavoravo come medico volontario per i rifugiati a Samos , ho avuto l'opportunità di conoscere Marco.
Marco è fuggito da Kumba, Camerun inglese, quasi 3 anni fa, e da 15 mesi vive nel campo profughi di Samos.
Mentre attende con angoscia la sua procedura legale, vive in un rifugio di fortuna e sta lottando, come tutti gli altri rifugiati a Samos, con le condizioni del campo (prova a digitare "rifugiati samos" su google per avere un'idea ...) e come se non bastasse soffre di una condizione che gli sta progressivamente facendo perdere la vista.
Da quando sono tornata in Italia mi sono tenuta in contatto con Marco, e questa mattina mi sono svegliata con l'orribile notizia che il suo già precario rifugio nel campo è stato distrutto e allagato dalle forti piogge, danneggiando le poche cose che possedeva.
Non avendo la possibilità economica di finanziare da sola i bisogni di Marco, ho pensato di creare questo crowdfunding per raccogliere dei soldi in modo che possa acquistare materiali per costruire un nuovo rifugio nel campo, in una posizione più sicura e con materiali più resistenti . Mi auguro che chi ne ha la possibilità possa dare un contributo.
