Samahang Pilipino Advancing Community Empowerment (SPACE) is a Student Initiated Outreach Project at UCLA that empowers underserved students through their journeys in higher education. Through the past 25 years, SPACE has been able to guide high school and community college students across Los Angeles and the South Bay in accessing 4-year institutions through peer advising and peer tutoring services. Despite the success of SPACE and similar projects, UCLA administration decided to restructure the program and will not provide funding for these services during UCLA's academic fall quarter. This impacts SPACE's ability to continue day-to-day operation. We started this fundraiser so we can continue providing food, field trips, academic/holistic/financial workshops, and transportation to serve our students.
