Sam Vielee - Volunteering Abroad

Hey y'all! For those of you who don't know me, my name is Sam Vielee. I am an alumnus of Christ the King Catholic School and Cathedral High School, and currently study biology at the University of Alabama, on the pre-med track. 

To further my studies, while also being able to serve others, I am partnering with  Volunteers Around the World and traveling to Cusco, Peru this summer from May 7th to May 21st. On this trip, I will be able to work alongside and learn from a variety of physicians. In addition, I will also get to spend time with children in the local community, educating them on the importance of hygiene and distributing basic hygiene products such as soap and toothbrushes.

I am attempting to raise $2650 for this trip. Of this cost, $1795 will be used to pay for housing, food and transportation while in Peru, $100 will be used to pay for medication to be used in the country, and the remaining $705 will be used to pay for the airfare to reach Peru. Any additional funds raised will go towards by exploration of and immersion into Cusco. While this trip isn't for a while, I have to pay for it early in advance and appreciated any assistance you can offer. 

I believe, being able to participate in this service trip with other students from my university will help me grow as a person, while also furthering my academics and allowing me to reach my long term goal of becoming a doctor. I can't even express the gratitude I feel that you are looking at this webpage right now and considering donating for this cause.
