Hi, my name is Sam, I'm 28 years old and living with cerebral palsy. In just a few weeks I'm going to be taking part in MY FIRST EVER TRIATHLON to raise money for others living with disabilities!
On the 17th August, myself and my sidekicks (5 of my carers), will be taking part in the superhero triathlon in Windsor, where we will be swimming 750m, pushing 5k and cycling 20k. I've even secured an adapted bike that lets me take my wheelchair on it.
My aim is to raise £5000 to help those living with disabilities in rural Zimbabwe. Very good friends of mine run a small charity working in Sanyati Zimbabwe, called Ratidzo Trust. Sanyati is a very poor area where people are struggling with poverty and those living with disabilities are even worse off. These people just want to be able to sustain themselves and all the money I raise will go directly to help those in the community of Sanyati living with disabilities.
The money will be used to set up sustainable income generating projects and help with health care needs. My mum and a friend are going out to Zimbabwe next year to visit those living with disabilities and to see how the money will have been used and the difference it will have made.
Please give whatever you can and help me change lives. Thank you Sam x
