How did we get so far?

Give the land to people that live on it and cultivate it,
not to the ones who only want to exploit and poison it!

We are a community of families of Orvieto (Italy), who have chosen to leave the city and live in an unpolluted environment, to cultivate earth as nature intended, in a respectful and biological way.

We will be soon overwhelmed by intensive hazel groves, which will wreck the landscape and jeopardize our land and our health, since pesticides and herbicides are a scourge to air and water basins.

All of this is going to happen for the convenience of none but a few exploiters, who do not live here and won't ever have to withstand the poisons they are spreading over our air, soil and water.

Help us keep our homes safe and cultivate respectfully and lovingly this land on which we have built our new life and grown our children, to keep them away from the poisons of the cities!

Together we'll be stronger! TOGETHER we'll make the difference!

This is a two-step project:

1. Buying by next CHRISTMAS 52 acres (21 hectares) of arable land (worth 300,000€, we contribute with 150,000€).

2. Buying, by the end of next year, and preferably before, 62 more acres (25 hectares) of neighboring land - worth not less than 300,000 euros - to save such an extraordinary place, recognised as a “luogo del cuore FAI” and cultural park on which, thanks to the uncommon beauty of the landscape, only indigenous and traditional cultivations are allowed, in order to preserve and protect the historical heritage of this lands.

Who will benefit from these funds?
The response is simple and straightforward: #YouToo.

Buying this land we’ll cultivate it with organic methods, reduce the carbon footprint planting trees, preserve environment, wildlife and water tables from pollutants: we could contribute to our planet’s health with much more possibilities than actual ones. We strongly believe that this project will increase the awareness of many other people, giving them a better and cleaner future.

And a little, personal benefit for each contributor: we will be happy to host you with a special discount in our family run locations.

If some of you will give us 10 euros for Christmas we - our land and our families - will be safe, being able to cultivate, in full respect of whoever lives here, drinks the water and breathes the air of this place.

Il nostro territorio, ormai, è tra i pochi a subire questa invasione. I sindaci dei territori circostanti si sono coalizzati per evitare la diffusione delle monoculture di noccioli. Perché?

Perché questi imprenditori senza scrupoli, che vivono da tutt'altra parte, percepiscono fondi europei per la coltivazione biologica, che prevede cinque anni di controlli.

I noccioli entrano in produzione DOPO cinque anni e la grande ditta italiana di prodotti dolciari a base di nocciola, che ha stipulato accordi con le regioni per promuovere la coltivazione di nocciole, non paga se più del 3% della produzione presenta danni da cimice (Halyomorpha halys) alla quale le nocciole vanno molto soggette. Da qui il grande uso di pesticidi e diserbanti (glifosato e neonicotinoidi), visto che gli imprenditori/coltivatori non abitano sui terreni e le colture sono prevalentemente meccanizzate. Questo, oltre ad avvelenare terra, aria e acqua, impoverisce queste zone, private delle produzioni locali biologiche e d'eccellenza, del turismo, della possibilità insomma di sviluppo, oltre che della straordinaria biodiversità che caratterizza questa zona. Come già accaduto intorno a Viterbo, i terreni vengono avvelenati e deturpati e dopo pochi anni rimangono solo le scorie e i morti (animali e persone che sviluppano maggiore incidenza di tumori) in un paesaggio spettrale.

Questo progetto è costituito da 2 step:

1. acquistare ENTRO NATALE (almeno 150.000€, noi contribuiamo con 150.000€) il maggior numero possibile di ettari di terreno.
2. acquistare entro l'anno prossimo altri 25 ha (almeno 300.000€) circostanti per salvare questa zona straordinaria,  luogo del cuore FAI e parco culturale che, per le straordinarie bellezze paesaggistiche, prevede solo colture autoctone e storicizzate.

Se alcuni di voi ci regaleranno 10€ per Natale saremo salvi, con la nostra terra e le nostre famiglie che continuerebbero a coltivarla nel pieno rispetto di chi vive, beve l'acqua e respira l'aria di questo posto.
