Promoting and Supporting Iowa Creatives

Salonnière DSM Salon Series (formerly Riverview Artist Salon) began in 2017 with a small event in Des Moines, Iowa. Its mission is: “To elevate the status of creatives living in our city and state and provide a center for networking, public engagement, new ideas, personal development, and artistic growth.”

Since then, twenty-seven events have been held at venues in the Des Moines Metropolitan Area, finally landing at its current location, The Annex at xBk in the Drake University neighborhood.

The Salon Series is dedicated to its mission by providing Iowa creatives with the opportunity to share their words, passions, sounds, and works with an audience. Each event consists of a two-hour program that includes networking, as well as featured poets and writers, art advocates, community leaders, creative performers, and visual artists. The event is free to attend, making it accessible to all who wish to participate and to those who support the arts.

The founder self-funds the events, and to keep the Salon Series thriving on a limited income, donations are appreciated to help offset costs such as catering, music, a photographer, and stage manager.

Your support will help provide Iowa creatives with a chance to reach new audiences, gain experience in the spotlight, and network with others. Every salon sparks unexpected and delightful outcomes, and by the end of the night, something wonderful always happens that inspires the founder to do it all again.
