Salone Smiles Dental Care in Sierra Leone 2025

We are travelling to Sierra Leone to provide much needed dental care to patients in one of the poorest countries in the world. In Sierra Leone health care is chronically underfunded. Most people are unable to afford to access the few dentists there are locally. This means many people live with chronic pain and infection.

We are taking annual leave to travel to Sierra Leone on a self funded trip and will be working alongside Home Leone charity, ADRA hospital and other small local clinics.

Money will go to dental equipment to allow us to provide high quality care and to buy consumables such as local anaesthetic, gauze, needles, toothbrushes, toothpaste, fluoride varnish and other dental materials.

As well as direct dental treatment we provide dental health education and fluoride varnish application for vulnerable communities in partner organisations such as children's homes, homes for people affected by polio and organisations working with those with disabilities. Money may be used to support these organisations with gifts of rice and other essentials.
