The Metis Alliance of Canada Cooperative strives to preserve the culture and the history of the Metis Peoples in Eastern Canada by being the second province in Canadian history to build meaningful and cultural communities that help our people preserve ancestral indigenous roots, practices and culture, assert indigenous harvesting rights and succeed at self determination. They have found 153 acres of land to be used for the first step of this initiative and now need to fundraise for the money to secure the land!

This is the first major step forward in reaching true reconciliation after more than 100 years of cultural genocide and attempted identity erasure of the Eastern Metis by the colonial government in the 1800's and 1900's, and unbelievably is still happening today through lateral violence from other indiginous groups.

The Eastern Metis are currently in the fight of their lives to save their culture and heritage from forced extinction.

We can't do this without the help of our Canadian brothers and sisters. Indiginous and non-indigenous, we need everyone's help.
