Hi! I’m Moosa, a high school student from Brooklyn and the founder of Salam Support, a student-led nonprofit bringing medical aid and hope to underserved communities locally and abroad.
In Spring 2025, we launched our first Medical Aid Drive, raising over $500 and assembling and distributing 50 medical and hygiene kits to families in Brooklyn. What started at James Madison High School has grown into a network of chapters in New York (JMHS and HPHS), Minnesota, Naperville (Indiana), Mira Loma (California), and Uzbekistan, powered by students who believe service should be organized, consistent, and impactful.
This year, we’re expanding our work through two major initiatives. Our Support Card Program brings encouragement to children in hospitals through handwritten cards made by volunteers. Our International Aid Project will have each chapter fundraise locally, purchase supplies from an approved list, assemble standardized medical kits, and ship them overseas to underserved Muslim communities.
We take transparency seriously. Every donation can be accounted for upon request, and our treasurer team tracks all funds and receipts so donations go directly to supplies and project costs, with oversight from school staff and community mentors.
Thank you for supporting Salam Support and helping students lead real change.
