Sakura Hines housing fund

I have decided to try a fundraiser for my daughter. Her journey has been one of strength, courage, pain, happiness, and sadness, but always hope. She manages to make it through as best she can, but she could really use the help of friends and family one more time.

18 years ago Sakura was handed down the diagnosis of Crohn's disease. Unfortunately, this wasn't just any form of the horrific disease, it decided to be relentless. Immune to every therapy drug that was available, and even the up-and-coming ones, nothing worked to send the Crohn's into remission. In 2012 she had her first surgery to remove some diseased parts of the intestines. That worked for a short time, but the disease kept its stranglehold on her. Constantly in and out of the hospital ER for pain meds, to temporarily patch the pain of this aggressive disease, Sakura continued to press on, maintaining a life of work and friends.

Finally, in 2020, she had a life-changing ileostomy surgery. The top GI surgeon at Mayo said he had never seen a colon so diseased. No wonder Sakura had been constantly in-and-out of the hospital ER, for pain management, for the good part of that year. It was really tough seeing my baby, my firstborn, dramatically changed, and I wasn't sure how she would accept this new chapter of Crohn's, but Sakura prevailed like the champ she has always been. But throughout these life-changing events, it's taken a toll on her mentally and physically. She's not shy to admit that life experiences have led her to Generose a couple of times, but Sakura always emerged better from those experiences.

Sakura has done her best to work and maintain a productive lifestyle. She never wanted to be classified as "disabled," or unable to work, she wanted to do her part. She's finally come to the conclusion, after, literally dozens of attempts to work, it's time to file for SSI/SSDI. If anyone out there knows, I guess it's a tedious process. We have started the paperwork, but it takes time. Also, if you're unaware, Sakura was so proud of the fact that she obtained her own apartment two years ago. She worked hard to get to that point in her life....I'm here to try and help her keep it. That's where you all come in. The county has no emergency funds for her, and the federal funding will take time. Time is not on our side at this point.

If you are reading all this, and understand, I would be so grateful for any help. My goal is to raise enough money to keep her apartment for the rest of this year. This would give Sakura time to get the disability compensation started. I know that I have a great community of friends and family out there. If each one could pass the word to just one person, I know we could easily reach our goal. A mother's desperate plea for her child in need.

Thank you so much for your consideration.
